After many years of back and forth between the YHHI and the owner of the land right next to the train station, it finally happened. The contract was signed and YHHI is free to renovate the old hotel and bring its charm back to life.
In the year 1798, the -at the time- richest man in Yellow Hill, landlord Peter Langhoudt moved into the small town of Ternat. With only around 20 people living there, it was the perfect way for him to relax after his retirement.
Right next to todays train station, which didn't exist at that time, he decided to build his new house. After his unfortunate and sudden death in 1809 his progenies rebuilt his house into a hotel to honor him and what he has done for the region.
Sadly, the hotel wasn't profitable and had to be closed just two years later. Since then, no one bothered to touch the building again and it started to become very popular in the lost-place community. Not long after Ternats train station opened, the company bought the land and started plans to tear the old hotel down. Inhabitants started protesting, a building with such history should be preserved. The Yellow Hill Hospitality Investments heard their calls and got in touch with the train company to buy the land and invest in a renovation.
The negotiations took nearly 10 years but finally both parties agreed on a contract.
The renovation process started a few months ago. YHHI told us in an interview that they will do their best to preserve the ancient building and honor Peter Langhoudt with an exhibition about him. Because of his love to luxury, YHHI decided to turn it into a luxury hotel, which was recently awarded as the most luxurious hotel in the whole Yellow Hill Region with full 4 stars!Instead of naming the hotel after the landlord itself, YHHI followed his wish to name it after a famous YouTube personality Eileen Grinwood.
The hotel now offers 16 standard rooms and 2 luxury suits as well as a restaurant dedicated for the guests with a outdoor terrace offering a wide range of drinks and food, including the famous beer and wine selections right from Ternat.
