An election without favorite?

This post refers to the status of the elections 25th March 2021, 14:40 GTM+0

Almost 24 hours have passed since the opening of the polling stations for the Ternat election. While around a hundred people have already voted, no candidate really seems to be cited as a favorite.

Indeed, the latest poll announces the following distribution among the votes: 28%, 26%, 24%, 22%.

The results are very close, and therefore very uncertain at the moment.

It must be said that each candidate has their own strength of character and all are very influential in the community. Everyone has been able to come up with excellent projects, and we would like that all those proposed can be achieved by the next mayor.

It also proves that everyone's electoral promises resonated with every citizen, and the choice was undoubtedly not without difficulties.

We decided to interview each candidate on the current results.

- Mr. Fred, what do you think of this first survey?

"Although all four candidates are strong competitors, I did not expect the race to be this close at this moment. This means all proposed campaign projects are connecting with at least a part of the people. Let's see if during the next couple of days a bigger difference will be established."

- Mr. Dylan, what do you think of the poll?

"It was very interesting seeing the interim results and how they are so close. This is also what I was expecting, because all candidates have come up with good points and a solid candidacy. It will be very interesting to see how blog posts, updates, projects, etc. will influence the balance of votes in the days leading up to Sunday."

- What do you have to say to the inhabitants of Ternat?

"I want to encourage everyone to vote on their candidate of choice if they haven't already, as this is really important for the future of our village."

- Mr. HAVVKZ, what do you think of those first 24 hours?

"To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed with the voter turn up until now. Ternations had big expectations for Mayor Allard and they will have big expectations for the next mayor. If they want their expectations to be fulfilled they need to get up and vote!"

- What are your impressions following the publication of the results?

"The results so far is very exciting, it shows that we have four strong candidates. I don't see myself as the favorite but I think I have a chance as a dark horse. Probably it will be a close race all the way to the end"

- Mr. Aoshiga, what's your current feeling about those first survey ?

"I have to admit that I didn't expect results this close. The proposals are all very interesting, and often close. I think this shows that the future mayor will have to pay particular attention to the proposal of these competitors.

- Are you confident ?

"I have mixed feelings. Everything can still change by the end of the votes. I encourage every citizen to vote for one of the candidates, it is the best way to participate in the development of Ternat."

We have decided to question the current mayor, Raphaël Allard, on the election.

- Mr. Allard, why did you not stand for election?

"First of all, I have to thank everyone who supported when I was mayor. I decided not to run again because my last choices were not that popular, especially about the old market and the deforestation around Ternat. I also think it's time for the new generation to decide how Ternat should evolve. "

- Do you have a favorite ?

"Yes, but I keep it a secret so as not to influence the election."

- What do you think of these first results?

"It shows that each candidate must take into consideration the proposals of the other candidates. Because no one seems to be the favorite. But that can change, and maybe one of them will win the election with a bigger difference with the other."
